Where is the Beach? We can see "Just add Water", the new surf shop on the main road to the beach, from our back window. Douglas beach is a ten minute walk or a short bike ride and Oval beach is a five minute drive.

Location, Location, Location!  Saugatuck and Douglas are quaint small towns. A short walk to Douglas or a bike ride to Saugatuck. In the heart of it all, yet we are located in a quiet residential side street.

Designed for entertaining, The Boathouse is the perfect destination for family reunions, wedding groups and large gatherings. Six bedrooms are all furnished with queen beds, two bunk beds in the crew quarters sleep four children for a total of sixteen people. Four and a half bathrooms ensure the fighting over bathrooms will be kept to a minimum. A dining table with seating for 14 and a large living room make sure that no one will be left out when gathered around the fire place. The sun porch, library and small office offer more intimate spaces. Add The Keeper's House with two more bedrooms, a living room, fire place, kitchen and art deco bathroom and you can sleep twenty in comfort with room to spread out and have more privacy.

  • Plane: An hour drive from Grand Rapids International Airport
  • Train: Amtrak's Pere Marquette service runs from Chicago into Holland, MI about 12 miles away. 
  • Ferry: Lake Express from Milwaukee to Muskegeon, MI - an hour drive to Douglas.
